Wind ensemble

EnsembleThe NOW Chamber Wind Ensemble (pictured left at Wellingborough Castle performing Dvorak's Wind serenade) is basically a Dectet, but sometimes an octet, nonet, or even larger or smaller and is one of the main exciting ensembles that form part of the Northamptonshire Orchestral Winds Wind Band College. It will generally perform without a conductor.

The NOW Wind Ensemble aims to provide regular rehearsal and performance opportunities for the 10 of the most advanced Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, Horn and Bassoon players in Northamptonshire Orchestral Winds and/or invited guests from outside NOW. Players are expected to practice individual parts before rehearsals so that the group may work on perfecting ensemble in rehearsals.

NOW Wind Ensemble players are expected to attend each rehearsal and performance/event in the NOW Wind Ensemble calendar. We meet to rehearse twice a month on a Sunday afternoon or evening.

Wind EnsembleEntry to the Ensemble is by appointment only. The standard is Diploma + (but if we are short a lower standard is taken until we can fill that place). So all you ex professionals or Music College trained players - this ensemble is perfect for you.  Please contact us if you would like to play in this ensemble. )From time to time members of the NOW dectet may be paid for participating in certain events).
